Greekfest
August 12-22 at the Hellenic Centre
The Hellenic Community of Ottawa presents GreekFest 2010 from August 12th – 22nd on the grounds of the Hellenic Community at 1315 Prince of Wales Drive.
Greekfest is all about food, fun and festivities and is one of Ottawa's biggest and best Cultural Festivals. Come experience Greece in your own backyard, free admission, live entertainment and tasty food.
- Maria Loi, a former Public Affairs Specialist and Lobbyist, will be appearing at Greekfest doing cooking demonstrations. She runs her own cooking show within Greece's most successful morning show on the country's leading TV network. She will be at the festival from August 12th-16th.

** The Epitaphios of the Virgin Mary is a richly embroidered cloth icon, depicting the body of the Virgin Mary (or the Theotokos) lying in state. This is used for the feast of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary (August 15th). The Procession of the Epitaphios is held on August 14th; the Epitaphios is venerated by the faithful in the church for 9 days following the Dormition.
